19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev claimed his first trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, winning just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term mentor Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface after March of that year.
Success also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at 21 various competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to win a title is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an better serve.
The champion came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the last five points to go ahead.
Both players exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.
He rescued 4 initial opportunities in a close final set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
